Every Life Matters

A Sobering Reminder, and a Renewed Call

Recent figures in the BBC News (click here) reveal that 1,611 people died while homeless in the UK last year - the highest number ever recorded. Behind every number is a person of value and purpose, a story that mattered, and a reminder of why our work continues.

These are not statistics to be accepted. They are lives cut short - people who should have had the chance to find safety, stability and belonging. Each one reminds us of the deep need for compassion, action and community.

At Green Pastures, we believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to build a new future filled with hope. For over 26 years, we’ve partnered with more than 100 local churches and Christian organisations across the UK to provide homes and ongoing support for over 1,500 people every day.

Through these partnerships, lives are being transformed - not just physically, but spiritually. People are finding belonging, dignity, and often a renewed faith in Christ. As one body, we’re working to right the injustice of homelessness, one person at a time.

A Sobering Reminder, and a Renewed Call

This latest report is a sobering reminder that our mission is far from over. Yet, even in the face of heartbreak, we remain filled with hope - because every day, we see what’s possible when love takes action.

Every home provided, every person welcomed, every prayer spoken - it all makes a difference.

“He sets the lonely in families.” - Psalm 68:6

Together, we can move closer to that vision - a day when everyone has a home, and every life is restored by love.

Be Part of the Change

Your prayers, partnership, and investment make this mission possible. Together, we can build homes, restore lives, and bring lasting change - one story at a time.
