4 New Bed Spaces in Southport
Why Every Safe Home Matters

In February, 4 new beds were added to our supported housing portfolio in Southport.
On paper, that number may seem small.
But in reality, it represents:
- 4 more safe spaces
- 4 more opportunities for a fresh start
- 4 more lives impacted
Every additional bed means another person has the opportunity to move away from homelessness and instability into safety, support and hope.
What makes this moment especially meaningful for us is the location connected to the story.
Southport Pier is where the story of Green Pastures first began 26 years ago. At the time, the area was heavily affected by rough sleeping and homelessness. For many, the streets surrounding the pier represented hardship, uncertainty and survival.
Today, through partnership, investment, prayer and community support, every known rough sleeper in the area has been offered a bed. 🙏
That transformation didn’t happen overnight.
It has taken years of collaboration between local partners, churches, investors, support workers and communities all working together towards a shared vision: ensuring more people have somewhere safe to call home.
Moments like this are important reminders that lasting change is possible.
In housing and homelessness work, progress is often measured in numbers, statistics and reports. But behind every number is a person rebuilding their life, rediscovering dignity and finding hope again.
We don’t always pause long enough to celebrate these milestones — but every new bed matters because every person matters.
We remain incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to pray, invest, partner and support the work of Green Pastures. Together, safe homes are being created and lives are being changed across communities.
And this is only the beginning. 💚
